STUDENT PROFILE

October 2006

Sajjad Rizvi, 26
9th Kyu

Why did you begin martial arts training?

I have always been interested in martial arts. I trained a little when I was very young and just stopped, and I thought I should just start back again before it was too late.

Did you have any previous martial arts training before joining CNC?

VERY, very little Tae Kwon Do when I was 5 or 6 and a little MCMAP (Marine Corps Martial Arts Program).

What do you like the most about ninjutsu?

I like the wide range it covers -how it provides a base for pretty much everything, so there is a lot of room to add or remove to suit your needs.

What has been the greatest benefit from your training?

Learning so many new techniques, and then learning how very simple changes make them more effective.

What has been your biggest challenge?

Trying to get all of the Japanese terminology down (it's getting better with time) and slowing down to get all of the details for each technique.

What would you say to someone who is considering ninjutsu training?

Go ahead and research different styles of martial arts and then attend a Ninjutsu class. Compare them all and see how much more you get out of this. There really is no "perfect" martial art, but Ninjutsu sure offers a lot of the best.
