STUDENT PROFILE

October 2005

Todd LeClair, 27
9th Kyu

Why did you begin martial arts training?

I began for the benefits that I knew Ninjutsu could offer: control, discipline, self-confidence, physical fitness, and the opportunity to meet new people.

Did you have any previous martial arts training before joining CNC?

I was active in Tae Kwon Do and JuJutsu while in college.

What do you like the most about ninjutsu?

Ninjutsu is an all encompassing martial art.  It has a range of techniques from striking to grappling to weapons.

What has been the greatest benefit from your training?

I have been challenged outside my normal comfort zone of physical activity.  The challenges have helped me to develop a greater understanding of techniques.

What has been your biggest challenge?

Internalizing each technique to make my responses involve less thought and instead become a reaction.

What would you say to someone who is considering ninjutsu training?

The challenge of Ninjutsu is an opportunity worth trying.  Additionally, the friendly atmosphere of the Columbus Ninjutsu Club made my first few practices enjoyable and without intimidation.
