Why did you begin martial arts training?
I was out of shape and I couldn’t motivate myself to workout anymore. I would go to the gym and 15 minutes later I wanted to leave. When I was younger I studied martial arts. I gave it up when I went away to college. Eight months ago I was driving down the street and I saw a sign for martial arts. I started training two days a week and now I train 5 days a week.
Did you have any previous martial arts training before joining CNC?
8 years of martial arts experience: 1st Degree Black Belt in Ju-Jitsu. This style of Ju-Jitsu also taught arnis (stick, knife, and unarmed techniques against weapons).
What do you like the most about ninjutsu?
I like the ground techniques. I also like the transition from fighting from a stand up position to fighting from the ground. When I took Ju-Jitsu I never learned any ground techniques. All of the throws, joint locks, and weapons were taught while standing up.
What has been the greatest benefit from your training?
The greatest benefit for me is learning a complete martial art that teaches punching, kicking, joint locks, weapons, throws, and stealth techniques.
What has been your biggest challenge?
I enjoy the class so much I don’t think I can name one specific challenge.
What would you say to someone who is considering ninjutsu training?
I think if you want to train in a realistic martial art for self-defense, this is the place for you. |
